The US dollar made little gains the last three days with no substantial news as equity markets moved higher and held steady on Friday sessions. Today is a quiet news day for the US with the only thing happening being FOMC member Williams speaking at 21:00 (GMT+8) this offering an opportunity for the dollar to move but William’s has been dovish with his language surrounding the inflation situation and easing of asset purchasing so it’s very unlikely that anything significant will be said to give a lift to the US dollar. Coming up tomorrow is the CB consumer confidence for June with 119.0 being the forecast and 117.2 was the previous month’s reading for May. From a technical stand point the US dollar is maintaining a tight trading range with the high 91.30’s offering support from buyers equity markets are currently really extended and any pull back tonight will aid DXY strength back to 92.00 no immediate trade ideas until a pull back occurs to the 91,30 or a re test of 92.00 resistance takes place.
