Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods, and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) gained 0.73% to hit a new all time high, while the S&P 500 index gained 0.35%, and the NASDAQ Composite index climbed 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the DJIA were Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc, which rose 8.08% or 3.22 points to trade at 43.06 at the close.
Meanwhile, Boeing Co added 7.34% or 16.44 points to end at 240.29 and Intel Corporation was up 2.30% or 1.15 points to 51.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Procter & Gamble Company, which fell 0.86% or 1.19 points to trade at 137.17 at the close.
Home Depot Inc. declined 0.75% or 2.03 points to end at 269.07 and Walmart Inc. was down 0.59% or 0.89 points to 149.63.
