The Twitter accounts of some of the most prominent U.S political and business leaders were found to be hacked in a series of coordinated attacks linked to a BitCoin scam.
Twitter accounts for big names like Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Elon Musk were seen displaying a BitCoin transaction address – with a promise that any amount sent would be doubled and sent back.
To date, at least a staggering $120,000 in bit coin have been sent to the anonymous online wallet – with about half the funds coming from users in the US, a quarter from Europe and the remainder from Asia.
This MIGHT sour the appetite for some towards BitCoin – but I think it’s too soon to judge – one rotten apple might not paint the whole picture for the rest of the crop.
